Panton herself is a trailblazer being the first woman to ever hold the position of Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives in Belize’s history.
“This year’s theme, “Balancing the Scales” reminds us that equality is not a favor, it is a sacred responsibility.
Women continue to lead in our homes, our communities, our businesses, and our nation; but, true progress means ensuring equal opportunity, equal pay, equal voice, and equal representation,” Panton explained.
Panton said that when women rise, Belize rises.
“Let us support, mentor, and empower each other and commit to building a society where the scale is finally balanced,” the Leader of the Opposition said.
