By Zoila Palma: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Taegar Panton was sworn in on March 14, 2025, as Belize’s first female Leader of the Opposition.
“Friday, March 14th, 2025 will now be recorded in the annals of Belize’s political history. It is the day I hope women and girls throughout the length of breadth of our country will celebrate. I hope it is a day that will inspire future generations to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams and to stand up for their values, principles and beliefs,” Panton said.
Panton expressed gratitude to God, her family and friends for their support “in challenging times and in times of triumph. I love you all so very, very much.”
“I give thanks to our Albert ACTION Committee, our Albert Advisory Committee and our incomparable, indomitable Albert CARE Team without whom victory would not be possible. They did the heavy lifting. The love is REAL,” Panton added.
Panton also thanked her colleagues and constituents for their support.
“Together we will Rebuild!,” the Leader of the Opposition stated.
