By Zoila Palma: Today, Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton extended heartfelt congratulations and profound gratitude to the Jesuit Community on the occasion of 175 years of faithful service to Belize.
“For more than a century and a half, the Jesuits have stood as pillars of education, spiritual guidance, and social justice in our country. Their mission has gone far beyond the walls of the classroom or the doors of the church. Through their work in schools, parishes, and communities across Belize, the Jesuits have helped shape generations of leaders, professionals, and citizens committed to service, discipline, and moral courage,” Panton said.
“The impact of Jesuit institutions is deeply woven into the fabric of our national life. From the formation of young minds to the strengthening of families and communities, the Jesuits have consistently championed the values of compassion, integrity, excellence, and justice. Their legacy is evident in the countless Belizeans who have gone on to serve our country with distinction, guided by the principles instilled in them by Jesuit educators and pastors,” the Leader of the Opposition expressed.
Panton says that the Jesuits have also stood with the people advocating for the poor, promoting human dignity, and reminding us all of our shared responsibility to build a more just and equitable society.
“We thank the Jesuit community for 175 years of dedication to the people of Belize. May their mission continue to inspire hope, strengthen faith, and guide our nation toward a future grounded in justice, unity, and compassion,” Panton added.
The Leader of the Opposition extended blessings for the Jesuit Mission in Belize.
