By Zoila Palma: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton has joined in congratulating the Roman Catholic community on the election of Pope Leo XIV.
“I extend heartfelt congratulations to the Roman Catholic community of Belize on the momentous election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
This historic occasion brings renewed spiritual energy and leadership to the global Church, and we join Catholics across Belize in celebrating this sacred milestone. The election of Pope Leo XIV offers hope and direction to a world in need of compassion, moral clarity, and unity,” Panton said.
Panton extended prayers that the Holy Father’s pontificate will be guided by divine wisdom, “and that his example of servant leadership will continue to inspire millions—including the faithful Roman Catholic community here in Belize who have long served as a moral cornerstone of our nation.”
“May God bless Pope Leo XIV as he embarks on this sacred journey, and may He continue to bless the Roman Catholic Church in Belize and around the world,” the Leader of the Opposition expressed.
