By Zoila Palma: Today, Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton extended congratulations to Dr. Richard Rosado on his appointment as Commissioner of Police.
“Dr. Rosado’s distinguished career, marked by over two decades of dedicated service and a steadfast commitment to justice and reform, positions him well to lead the Belize Police Department into what we envision will be a new era of transparency and accountability,” Panton expressed.
“Commissioner Rosado has the Herculean responsibility of spearheading internal reforms and fostering partnerships aimed at restoring public trust, particularly in marginalized communities as our nation grapples with complex national security challenges and escalating crime rates,” Panton added.
Panton says that the Opposition stands ready to support initiatives that promote bipartisan collaboration and effective strategies to enhance citizen security.
Panton also thanked outgoing Commissioner Clyde Williams and wish him success in his new role as CEO in the Ministry of Transport.
