By Zoila Palma: Today, Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton joined in extending congratulations to Taiwan on the celebration of their 114th national day.
“On behalf of the United Democratic Party and our Parliamentarian Caucus, I extend warm congratulations to the Government and People of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on the celebration of their 114th National Day and on 36 years of formal diplomatic relations with Belize,” Panton said.
“The Opposition salutes the Republic of China (Taiwan) for its steadfast commitment to democracy, innovation, and human development, values that have inspired nations around the world. Belize continues to deeply appreciate the enduring partnership and generous cooperation that Taiwan has shared with our country across multiple sectors, including education, health, agriculture, technology, trade, and infrastructure,” Panton added.
Panton said that over the last 36 years, Belize and Taiwan have built a relationship grounded in mutual respect, shared principles, and people-to-people exchanges that continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity between our two nations.
“On this special occasion, we join the Government and People of Belize in wishing Taiwan continued prosperity, peace, and progress. May the partnership between Belize and Taiwan continue to flourish for generations to come,” Panton expressed.
