Leader of Opposition calls for transparency in Public Utilities Commission meeting

By Zoila Palma:  Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton is calling for transparency for today’s Public Utilities Commission meeting.

Panton says that “inquiring minds want to know what is on the agenda for the PUC Meeting this afternoon? Be forewarned, the people of Belize are paying very close attention.”

Notably, the PUC recently declined a request to meet with the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB) to discuss BTL’s proposed acquisition of Speednet.

The NTUCB noted that the decision to decline a meeting with the union undermines widespread calls for transparency.
