By Horace Palacio: A man was fatally shot late Wednesday night in the Lakeland area of Dangriga, authorities confirmed. The victim, identified as Richard Aranda, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday. Residents reported hearing multiple shots in the typically quiet neighborhood.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but have not yet released information on potential suspects or motives.
