By Breaking Belize News Staff: Edward Saldano, the Southside resident who was granted bail earlier this week in connection with a robbery allegation, is back in police custody less than 24 hours after securing his release.

Saldano and his younger brother, Damion Saldano, were detained by police this week in connection with an ongoing shooting investigation being carried out by CIB.

At approximately 9:14 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the brothers were seen in the back of a police mobile.

Earlier this week, on Monday, Edward Saldano — the last of five men accused of robbing a man on the Belchina Bridge in October 2025 — was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.

Attorney Oscar Selgado successfully secured bail for Saldano when he appeared before newly appointed Senior Magistrate Mannon Dennison in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. He was granted bail of $10,000 plus two sureties of $5,000 each, which he was able to meet by 3:00 p.m. that same day.

As part of his bail conditions, Saldano is required to report to the Raccoon Street Police Station three times per week — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays — between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. He is also not to be arrested or charged for any other offenses.

Saldano’s next court date in relation to the robbery matter is set for March 4, 2026.

Meanwhile, police investigations into the shooting incident continue.
