By Aaron Humes: A would-be burglar didn’t get far with his loot after Police got on his trail in Ladyville, Belize District, this week.
Police have formally arrested and charged 28-year-old Freddy Vasquez of Mile 13, Philip Goldson Highway, for breaking into a female’s residence on Perez Road on October 22 and stealing various items.
As detailed by Staff Officer Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith, “A female reported that on October 22, around 3 a.m., she was awakened by an unusual noise in her home. Upon inquiry, she [encountered] a male person who then proceeded to rummage through her house and [remove] several items before [escaping.] As a consequence of Police investigations as well as assistance of members of the public, Police were able to apprehend Vasquez shortly after the incident and recover the stolen items.”
Vasquez was found to have removed a sieve from the bathroom window to enter the residence.
