Laborer Ronny Sierra falls to death while fixing roof in Cayo

By Aaron Humes: 46-year-old Ronny Sierra from Hills of Promise, Benque Viejo Town, Cayo District, apparently fell to his death while working on a roof on a house in the village of Esperanza, Cayo District.

Initial investigation by police revealed that at about 8:10 a.m. Sierra and two other men, both from Guatemala, were getting ready to finish fixing the roof of a concrete bungalow house measuring 11 feet high and 25 by 30 feet wide.

Sierra went up to the roof alone and while fixing the roof, he slipped and fell on a tree stump, causing severe injury to his ribcage. Responding paramedics were unable to save him.

A post-mortem examination of Sierra’s body has been scheduled as police investigation continues.
