By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In a thrilling display of endurance and skill, Belize’s top rider Kaya Cattouse of LA Sweat won the 2024 BTB Annual September Criterium held on Sunday, September 15, in downtown Belize City. The event, organized by the Cycling Federation of Belize, transformed the Albert and Regent Streets Circuit into a vibrant arena of competitive cycling.
LA Sweat’s Kaya Cattouse won the women’s race, followed by Francine Gigli of Team Lovell and Irene Baki.
Baki was also the Youth winner. Additionally, she won the High School Girls’ race, in which she was followed by Kelsi Castillo and Arielle Gordon in second and third, respectively.
Castillo won the Kid’s race for 13-15 year-olds over Chelsy Gillett and Brandi Tzul.
