By Rubén Morales Iglesias: La Loma Luz Adventist Hospital is hosting the ‘A Morning of Prayer’ event, featuring a 10K Run and 5K Walk in San Ignacio-Santa Elena, set for Sunday, February 2, 2025. This event aims to foster community spirit, health, fitness, and spiritual reflection.
Both the 10K run and 5K walk will both start and finish at the entrance of the driveway of La Loma Luz Adventist Hospital on the George Price Highway in Santa Elena. The 10K run starts at 5:50 am and the 5K starts at 6:00 am.
Participants can pick up their bibs starting at 5:00 am. Everyone who completes the event will receive a finisher medal, making it a memorable experience for all. In addition to the joy of participation, top finishers in the 10K run, in both men and women categories, will be rewarded with prizes and surprises. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, adding a competitive edge to the event.
“It’s the first of its kind, and considering all that’s happening in Belize, we want to commit our community, including our country, to God because we still believe that God answers prayers,” Leera Coleman, La Loma Luz Adventist Hospital chaplain said.
To keep participants hydrated, there will be water stations along the route. Additionally, there will be music by the finish line to keep the energy high and celebrate the achievements of all participants.
The route for the 10K run is as follows:
- La Loma Luz Hospital, Loma Luz Boulevard, Joseph Andrews Drive, Bullet Tree Road, Collins Boulevard, Park Drive, Palencia St., Ramirez Drive, George Price Highway, Buena Vista St., King St., Burns Avenue, Market St., Joseph Andrews Drive behind Norman Broaster Stadium, Wooden Bridge Road, George Price Highway, to La Loma Luz Hospital.
The route for the 5K walk is as follows:
- La Loma Luz Hospital, Loma Luz Boulevard, Branch Mouth Road, Joseph Andrews Drive behind Norman Broaster Stadium, Wooden Bridge Road, George Price Highway, to La Loma Luz Hospital.
The registration fee is $25 per person, with a special discount for groups of five or more, making it an inclusive and affordable event for all. To register, participants can make a payment to the La Loma Luz Adventist Hospital account at Belize Bank, using the account number 650-121197010120001, and note ‘Prayer 10K’ in the transaction. For more information or to register, interested individuals can call or WhatsApp 621-0691 and send a copy of their transfer receipt as proof of payment.
