Kinase Molina spared jail time for stabbing cop in the arm; fined $900

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Kijahe Molina, a 20-year-old call center agent from Belize City, avoided jail time after pleading guilty to wounding an off-duty police officer. Instead, he was fined and bound over to keep the peace for one year.

For the July 18, 2023 incident, where he stabbed PC Zani Zavala in the arm, Molina was fined $900 plus court costs. Additionally, he must maintain good behavior for a year or face six weeks in jail if he fails to pay a $1,000 fine.

The Magistrate explained that Molina, who was represented by attorney Hurm Hamilton, must adhere to these conditions starting today, July 9, 2024. Molina’s lawyer highlighted his client’s remorse and commitment to becoming a productive citizen.
