KHMHA pleads with Facebook media page to remove video of patient in hospital bed; ‘Recordings of patients is not permitted’

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority (KHMHA) is appealing to a Facebook media blog to remove video footage of a patient that was reportedly shared on social and public media platforms on Friday, June 27, 2026.

In a statement, KHMHA expressed concern over the sharing of the footage, stressing that every patient is entitled to privacy, dignity, and compassion while receiving care.

“Behind every bed in our wards is a person, someone’s mother, father, child, or friend, going through one of the most vulnerable moments of their life,” the hospital said.

KHMHA reminded media organizations, content creators, and the wider public that photography, video, and audio recording of patients inside the hospital is not permitted without prior written consent from both the patient and hospital administration.

The hospital said the issue is not only a matter of policy, but also one of basic human respect.

KHMHA further stated that it remains committed to providing a safe, dignified, and compassionate environment for every patient in its care, while thanking the public and media partners for helping to uphold that standard.

The overzealous page was quick to post the video of a man in a hospital bed after reporting that he was attacked after receiving his syndicate.
