By Zoila Palma: The dedicated staff at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to public health in the face of crisis.
This morning, KHMH responded to victims of a major road traffic accident on the Philip Goldson Highway involving an overturned passenger bus.
The accident resulted in more than 30 patients being brought to the hospital’s Accident and Emergency department with varying degrees of injuries.
In a true display of teamwork and professionalism, KHMH staff sprang into action to provide immediate care.
Some of the hospital’s staff members, despite not being scheduled for duty, rushed to the scene to support their colleagues and ensure the smooth handling of the mass casualty situation. Thanks to their quick response, all patients are now reported to be stable, and their injuries have been addressed.
KHMH continues to stand as the National Referral Hospital, offering efficient and compassionate care to the Belizean public in times of emergency.
The hospital’s staff remains steadfast in their mission to prioritize the health and well-being of the community.
