Press Release
The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO), is conducting a Results-Based Management (RBM) Training for the Belize Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) 2024-2029. The training commenced today, July 8, 2024, and will continue until July 10, 2024, at the University of the West Indies Campus, Belize City.
The primary objective of the training is to equip key tripartite stakeholders, including members of the Labour Advisory Board, with essential skills to effectively monitor and manage the implementation of the Belize DWCP 2024-2029. Belize’s DWCP aligns with Belize’s National Development Goals and reinforces commitments made under international treaties and conventions.
Developed through extensive workshops and consultations in 2023 and 2024, the programme reflects Belize’s unique context and priorities, driving sustainable change in our country. The programme further reaffirms the joint commitment of the Government of Belize, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and the ILO to promote decent work. The RBM training is a key step in ensuring the successful implementation of the DWCP, enabling stakeholders to effectively monitor progress and achieve the outlined goals.
Workshop participants include representatives from the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Trade Union Congress of Belize and the Government of Belize. This collaborative effort sets the stage for proactive management and impactful outcomes in Belize’s pursuit of enhanced labour standards and social well-being.
