Kenny’s Store in Xaibe Village robbed at gunpoint, $2,300 cash stolen

By Horace Palacio: Kenny’s Store in Xaibe Village was robbed at gunpoint yesterday afternoon, February 10th, at approximately 3:30 PM. According to reports, two individuals dressed in dark clothing, including long sleeves, warm caps, long pants, and ski masks, entered the store, with one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm.

During the robbery, a customer was kicked to the ground and ordered by the assailants not to look at them. The shop owner reported fleeing the scene through a side door upon witnessing the incident.

One of the robbers proceeded to go behind the counter and open the drawers, stealing approximately BZD 2,300 in various denominations. The scene was photographed and processed by a Scene of Crime Officer.

The shop owner and the customer involved are expected to file a formal report at the Corozal Police Station. The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
