By Aaron Humes: Chandra Nisbet Cansino, the Chief Executive Officer of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), has officially concluded her tenure, marking Friday as her last day in office. The CEO expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the country’s leading tertiary healthcare institution.
In her farewell message to staff and stakeholders, the outgoing CEO described her time at KHMH as one of the greatest honors of her career, while acknowledging the daily obstacles and complex decisions faced throughout her leadership: “Yet, through it all, I am proud of the progress we achieved together with one of the most powerful and talented group of individuals across all sectors of the KHMH workforce. A dream team of Superheroes – hands down. Despite the challenges, we modernized systems, expanded services, strengthened the team, and enhanced care for patients.”
The CEO emphasized that her decision to step down was made after thorough reflection, indicating a desire to embrace new opportunities and continue her professional journey. “I believe it is the right time to close this chapter and step confidently into the next stage of my life,” she stated.
Gratitude flowed as she thanked the hospital staff, the Board, and various partners for their unwavering support during her tenure. “KHMH will always remain close to my heart. I will continue cheering for its success from the sidelines,” she added.
With an optimistic outlook, she raised a toast to “growth, new beginnings, and the work ahead,” inspiring the KHMH community to carry forward the vision she helped establish. The KHMH Board will be tasked with the search for a new CEO to lead the institution into its next chapter.
