Kamala Harris announces visit to Puerto Rico

Jacquelyn Martin (The New Journal) reports that Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Puerto Rico this month. The last time she visited the island was as a senator in 2017.

Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States, will visit Puerto Rico this month, according to a press release.

It will be next Friday, March 22, when Harris will land at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport to continue “the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to support Puerto Rico’s recovery and renewal.”

During her visit, “she will highlight how her and President Joe Biden’s Investing in America agenda, including the historic American Recovery Plan (ARP), the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act (BIL), the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), are delivering results,” the vice president’s office said.

This will be Harris’ first trip to the island since she was sworn in as U.S. vice president. The last time she visited the island was as a senator in 2017.
