By Zoila Palma: Following Friday’s Sitting of the House of Representatives, Minister Julius Espat responded to questions on the Ministry of Home Affairs portfolio.
“I’m humbly requesting to the Prime Minister: make up your mind. Put a minister, any minister, bring him from Timbuktu if you want. But place somebody that you have trust in, that you can work with, that the people in Belize are comfortable with, that your police officers are comfortable with, and I will be 100% in support,” Espat said.
At this time, Minister Espat says that he is in limbo as it relates to that Ministry.
“In limbo. I am a man… limbo drives me in a different direction,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister John Briceno has responded saying that Espat is the Minister of Home Affairs until a decision is made and he is not in “limbo”.
