By Zoila Palma: On October 27, 2025, the Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF), in partnership with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, officially inaugurated the Josephine Shoman Preschool in Santa Elena, Cayo.
The newly constructed facility offers a safe, engaging, and child-friendly environment designed to support the holistic development of young learners. It includes two spacious classrooms, modern bathrooms, an accessible ramp, and a fully equipped kitchen—features that ensure inclusivity and comfort for both students and teachers.
Implemented under the CDB’s Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) program, the project underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening early childhood education and fostering sustainable community development across Belize.
