By Horace Palacio: Police have charged 29-year-old Jovannie Rashad Jones and 23-year-old Jerwin Ormand Segura for the brutal double murder of a couple on Monday evening. The incident occurred just outside Crooked Tree Village.
The victims, Felix Martinez, 37, and his partner, Adelita Gillett, 40, were shot dead inside their black Chevy Equinox.
Sources indicate the couple had paid Jones $35,000 in October to import a vehicle. After failing to deliver, Jones was served with a formal refund demand earlier this month. On the day of the murders, the victims were allegedly enticed to the area under the pretense of receiving a partial refund.
Both suspects are expected to be arraigned later today.
