By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Jewel Fury travel north this afternoon to face Corozal Elite at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town in the first match of Week 2 of the 2026 Westline Premier Women’s League of Belize Closing Season. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.

Both teams enter the weekend unbeaten after impressive Opening Weekend performances.

Jewel Fury opened their campaign with a 2–1 victory over SAGITUN GIRLZ on Sunday at the FFB Stadium. Goals from Amina Burgess (16′) and Shamika Lambey (54′) secured the win for the former champions, who showed early cohesion.

Corozal Elite, meanwhile, earned one of the standout results of Week 1 by holding champions Napoles FC to a 2–2 draw. Edith Alejandra Cabrera and Josefin Reyes scored for Corozal in a standout performance that signaled their intent to challenge the league’s traditional powers.

With Jewel Fury on three points and Corozal Elite on one, today’s match carries early‑season weight. A win for Fury would keep them perfect and potentially move them top of the standings, while a Corozal victory would push them firmly into the title conversation after last week’s strong showing.

The People’s Stadium crowd is expected to be lively as Corozal Elite look to defend home turf and continue their promising start.
