By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Social Security Board (SSB) has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Jerome Palma as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr. Palma brings to the position extensive executive leadership experience in risk management, organizational management, investment, and corporate governance. His leadership style, commitment to integrity, and results-driven approach align closely with SSB’s strategic goals and values.
Mr. Palma joined the SSB in October 2024 as Deputy CEO and has been serving as Acting CEO since February 2025. He holds a Master of Science in Actuarial Science with distinction from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from the University College of Belize.
He is also an Associate Actuary of both the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK and the Caribbean Actuarial Association. His strong technical background in actuarial science and proven track record in insurance administration position him well to guide the SSB toward its mission of delivering an innovative, resilient, and people-centered social insurance system.
The SSB Board of Directors expressed full confidence in Mr. Palma’s ability to lead the organization through modernization, operational excellence, and long-term fund sustainability.
“We warmly welcome Mr. Palma and look forward to his continued leadership in strengthening SSB’s systems and ensuring a sustainable future for all Belizeans,” the release stated.
