By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Junior rider Jaylen Briceño from the G-Flow Cycling Team dominated the Junior Category at the 2nd Annual Pre-New Year’s Day Cycling Race, held on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Briceño’s performance was so remarkable that it earned him first place not only in the Junior category, but also in the overall race that included Elite and Masters riders. Apart from winning $600.00 for the Elite win, he also collected a cash prize of $200.00 for the Junior victory.
The race, which spanned from Orange Walk to Belize City, showcased Briceño’s exceptional talent and determination, as he outpaced his peers to secure the top spot in the Junior Category.
The race results for the Junior Category are as follows:
- Jaylen Briceño (G-Flow Cycling Team) – M/Junior – $200.00 Cash
- Tamron Morris (GRIGA CYCLING Team) – M/Junior – $125.00 Cash
- Richard Rosado (Rolling Shattaz Cycling Team) – M/Junior – $100.00 Cash
- Jahiem Simpson (Wateva Boyz Cycling Team) – M/Junior – $75.00 Cash
- William Castillo (GRIGA CYCLING Team) – M/Junior – $50.00 Cash
Briceño’s victory in the Junior Category underscores his potential as a rising star in the cycling community. He’ll now aim to win the Krem’s New Year’s Day Cycling Classic.
