By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belizeans can expect a mix of sun and showers today as a slightly moist easterly airflow continues to influence the country’s weather.
The National Meteorological Service is forecasting mostly sunny skies with some cloudy intervals, along with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms across most areas throughout the day. Tonight, skies will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly along coastal areas.
Winds will blow from the east at 5 to 15 knots, producing light chop on coastal waters. Waves are expected between 2 to 4 feet, making marine conditions relatively safe for small craft. Temperatures along the coast will peak around 86°F and drop to 77°F tonight. Inland areas will see warmer daytime highs of 92°F, cooling down to 72°F later. Over the hills, cooler temperatures of 78°F during the day and 66°F at night are anticipated.
Despite ongoing instability in the region, the tropical weather outlook remains calm with no cyclone formation expected over the next 48 hours in the North Atlantic Basin. This provides some relief to residents as the hurricane season progresses.
Today’s high tides are expected at 8:16 AM and 10:22 PM, while low tides will occur at 4:02 PM and again tomorrow at 2:46 AM. Sunrise was at 5:19 AM and sunset will be at 6:30 PM. The moon rose at 4:15 AM and will set at 6:07 PM.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest forecasts and be cautious of localized flooding in low-lying areas during heavy showers.
