By Zoila Palma: On February 8, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump met with President of Honduras Nasry Asfura, at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to Reuters, President Trump said that the U.S. and Honduras enjoy close partnership on security, and are working together to “counter dangerous Cartels and Drug Traffickers, and deporting Illegal Migrants and Gang Members out of the United States.”
Asfura was sworn in as President of Honduras in January.
