By Zoila Palma:  President Donald Trump has suggested the United States could expand its use of military and political pressure to several other countries following last weekend’s U.S. operation in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said Washington is prepared to act elsewhere, declaring a day earlier that “nobody can stop” the United States.

Trump said the U.S. could potentially intervene in countries including Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Iran and Greenland, and warned that Venezuela could face additional strikes if its interim leadership fails to cooperate.

“We were ready for a second wave,” Trump said of the operation against Venezuela, adding, “If they don’t behave, we will do a second strike.” He characterized the initial action as decisive and suggested U.S. power could be applied again if necessary.

Turning to Colombia, Trump claimed the country is “very sick” and accused its leadership of tolerating cocaine production and trafficking into the United States, People reports.

He also suggested Cuba is on the brink of collapse, citing the loss of Venezuelan oil revenues. When asked about possible U.S. action against Havana, Trump responded positively, saying Cuba is “ready to fall” and predicting support from Cuban Americans.

Trump also issued renewed warnings toward Mexico, saying the country must do more to confront powerful drug cartels operating within its borders.

He said he has repeatedly offered to send U.S. troops to assist Mexico, arguing that cartel violence and drug trafficking pose a direct threat to U.S. security. Trump further said he is monitoring Iran closely, warning that any renewed violence linked to Tehran would be met with a strong U.S. response.

Beyond Latin America and the Middle East, Trump reiterated his interest in Greenland, citing its strategic importance amid what he described as increased Russian and Chinese activity in the Arctic.
