The National Union of Guatemalan Transporters announced on Sunday, the move to block highways using buses, trucks and vehicles.
The protest commenced this morning at 6 leaving the road to Guatemala City blocked.
The main highways in Peten connect Sayaxché, La Libertad, Poptún, Santa Ana, and access points near the Mundo Maya International Airport.
