By Zoila Palma: Pope Francis’ condition remains stable amid his ongoing medical treatment, the Vatican reported today.
While his prognosis remains reserved, the pope continues to use oxygen therapy and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. He spent his day alternating between prayer, rest, and physiotherapy.
The 88-year-old pontiff had a tranquil night and woke up on Friday morning without any respiratory issues, marking his 22nd day in the hospital since being admitted on February 14 for bilateral pneumonia.
On Thursday, Pope Francis offered his first public comments since being hospitalized, thanking the public for their prayers and offering blessings.
The Vatican stated that the pope’s condition is stable, and there will be no further updates until Saturday.
