Sheinbaum has previously been praised for avoiding a direct confrontation with Trump, helping preserve a relationship that many believed was heading toward a rupture that could have seriously harmed Mexico’s economy.
But Sheinbaum and other international leaders, including Italy’s prime minister, have recently adopted a more assertive stance amid global economic strain linked to Washington’s actions and shifting political dynamics in the United States.
