International News: Mexico finds 10 bodies in Vizsla Silver abduction investigation

By Zoila Palma:  Mexican police found 10 bodies while investigating the January abduction of workers at a site operated by Vancouver-based Vizsla Silver in Sinaloa, Yahoo reports.

The Attorney General’s Office confirmed the finding in Concordia saying that 5 of the victims have so far been identified.

Forensic teams are continuing efforts to establish the identities of the remaining bodies, while families of the kidnapped workers have not yet received official information regarding the unconfirmed victims.

Mexico’s mining chamber, Camimex, confirmed the deaths of three miners: Ignacio Aurelio Salazar, José Ángel Hernández, and José Manuel Castañeda Hernández. The BBC reported that José Manuel Castañeda Hernández, a geologist, was identified by his brother.

Camimex has called for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.

Vizsla Silver has closed its Panuco mine since the abductions and said it remains committed to recovering any missing employees and supporting their families.
