By Zoila Palma: Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has temporarily stepped away from football following the death of his father, Jorge Messi.
The Argentine forward is expected to remain in his native Argentina as he spends time with his family during this difficult period.
Jorge Messi played a significant role throughout his son’s career, supporting Lionel from his early days in Argentina and helping him pursue opportunities in Spain.
He remained closely involved in Messi’s career through his years at Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami, while also helping to protect his son from the pressures surrounding his global fame.
Messi reportedly returned to Rosario after the World Cup to spend time with his father as his health declined. Following Jorge’s passing, the Inter Miami star has decided to remain with his family and has not been given a specific date to return to the club.
