By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Inter Miami has officially announced that it will face El Salvador’s National Team at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Inter Miami’s first pre-season match on January 19 will be held in the newly transformed Central American nation that recently hosted the prestigious Miss Universe pageant.
World renowned football player Lionel Messi who has won 8 Ballon d’Ors plays with Inter Miami and it is highly anticipated that fans from all over Central America will commence planning their trips to El Salvador.
The social media announcement by Inter Miami went viral with many ecstatic fans expressing their excitement for an opportunity to see the football star in live action.
“We’re excited to start announcing our preseason plans and preparations ahead of a thrilling 2024 campaign. We look forward to facing the El Salvador national team in what will be a good first test for our squad against the best players from the country,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
Los Cuscatlecos are helmed by Rubén de la Barrera, a Spanish manager with extensive coaching experience at the club level.
El Salvador’s national team competed in the 2023 editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup and Nations League earlier this year.
Inter Miami noted that additional information, including ticketing will be announced soon.
