By Zoila Palma: Early today, an earthquake of magnitude 5.93 struck off the coast of Costa Rica early, the German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The quake hit at a depth of 18 km (11.18 miles), the centre said.
In the province of Guanacaste, the earthquake was felt strongly, local reports indicated.
It was also felt in other areas such as San Ramón, Coronado, Desamparados, the Los Santos region, and Santa Ana.
