By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: More than 12,000 structures, including homes and businesses, have been destroyed in wildfires raging across the Greater Los Angeles area since last Tuesday, USA Today reports.
Cal Fire reported that 40,300 acres have burned, with at least 24 fatalities and over 100,000 people displaced.
The Pacific Palisades fire, the most destructive in Los Angeles history, has destroyed over 1,200 structures and caused extensive damage to others.
Damage inspections continue, with estimates based on infrared imaging and on-the-ground verification.
