By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Sunday, Hezbollah launched around 250 rockets and other projectiles into Israel injuring 7 people in one of the group’s most intense barrages in months.

Some rockets reached the Tel Aviv area, AP reports.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes targeted Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, killing a Lebanese soldier and wounding 18 others.

The escalating violence follows Israel’s deadly airstrikes in Beirut, which killed at least 29 people and injured 67.

Despite ongoing cease-fire negotiations, tensions remain high, with Hezbollah’s attacks framed as solidarity with Hamas in the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

The European Union has called for increased pressure on both Israel and Hezbollah to negotiate a ceasefire, with discussions reportedly ongoing regarding the withdrawal of troops from southern Lebanon.
