By Zoila Palma: Police in Chiapas, Mexico, have reinforced border security following the capture of Roger “N,” also known as “El Peque,” a key criminal figure linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
The arrest was the result of a joint intelligence and investigation operation between Mexico and Guatemala.
The operation involved close coordination among the Guatemalan Army and National Civil Police, the Mexican Armed Forces, and Chiapas state authorities, including the State Attorney General’s Office and the People’s Security Secretariat.
According to Chiapas prosecutor Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca, Roger “N” is believed to lead a criminal group linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and its local alliance, the “Chiapas-Guatemala Cartel.”
Law enforcement officials say the arrest marks a significant step in efforts to disrupt organized crime along the southern border.
