By Zoila Palma: Today, the Government of Guatemala issued a statement saying that it “observes with deep concern the situation in Venezuela, including the reports of explosions and airstrikes in recent hours.”
Guatemala reiterated its conviction that peace and respect for international law must prevail over any form of military confrontation.
The country further called fora cessation of all unilateral military action.
“Guatemala reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, particularly respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, the prohibition of the use or threat of force, and the peaceful settlement of disputes,” the statement expressed.
