By Zoila Palma: Ford has increased prices by up to $2,000 on 3 Mexico-made models, including the Maverick and Bronco Sport, following new tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The company said the hike is part of a routine mid-year adjustment, though tariffs contributed, Reuters report.
Ford noted it isn’t passing the full cost to buyers.
The automaker expects the trade war to cost it $2.5 billion this year, while rival GM forecasts up to $5 billion in losses.
Trump’s tariffs have disrupted the auto industry, forcing production shifts and plant closures, though recent policy changes have eased some duties on car parts.
