By Zoila Palma: Today, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) announced that Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett will join heads of government, ministers with responsibility for energy and the environment, and industry leaders for Caribbean Energy Week 2026.
The event is taking place in Paramaribo, Suriname, 30 March -1 April.
Dr. Barnett will deliver remarks during the first day of the forum.
Caribbean Energy Week 2026 aims to “bring together hydrocarbons, power renewables, mining, and carbon credits under one roof, the event will leverage the diversity of the Caribbean to highlight its most bankable projects, forge strategic partnerships, and accelerate investment.”
This two-day, multinational forum, is also expected to maximize the Region’s current energy thrust and transformation, harnessing synergies in areas of logistics and technology and partnerships with Africa.
Caribbean Energy Week is spearheaded by Energy Capital Power and other strategic partners.
