By Aaron Humes: For the second time during the administration of Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, one of her Barbados Labour Party (BLP) backbenchers has crossed the floor to become Leader of the Opposition, the Barbados Nation News reports.

Government backbencher Ralph Thorne, member for Christ Church South, follows Joseph Atherley in 2018, two years after the BLP was returned to office in another clean sweep of the 30 parliamentary seats.

Prime Minister Mottley told the Nation in response: “Easy come, easy go.”

She confirmed what reliable sources had told the Saturday Sun, saying that President Sandra Mason had written her indicating that Thorne visited her and informed her he was no longer sitting with the Government and would become the Opposition Leader.
