By Zoila Palma: Family, friends, colleagues and sports enthusiasts are mourning the death of iconic sports journalist and commentator Ruben Morales Iglesias.
Ruben will be laid to rest in his hometown of Benque Viejo del Carmen.
The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 2pm followed by his final farewell at Benque Cemetery.
Live streaming will be done by Coye’s Funeral Home and shared by Breaking Belize News.
Throughout his life, Ruben dedicated his talent to sports reporting in Belize on Love FM, Estereo Amor, and most recently with Breaking Belize News.
Morales passion was evident throughout his dynamic coverage of football games, his highlights of impressive Belizean athletes.
Ruben leaves behind a legacy not only through his writing but through the lives he touched.
Beyond journalism and his professional achievements, Ruben was a friend, a confidant, a steady and supportive presence to his family, friends and colleagues.
Throughout his life, Ruben lived kindness, he breathed generosity, a kindness and a generosity that he never spoke about.
That kindness and generosity was showed in the way he loved.
We will always remember your voice, your kindness, your legacy.
