‘I felt like I was the man’: Ryan Hall on his 2.31 second goal – video

Croydon FC’s Ryan Hall scored a stunning goal from kick-off in their game against Cockfosters in the London Senior Trophy. The goal was timed at 2.31 seconds by the non-league side, who understood it ‘to be the fastest goal in senior football in the world’, but Guinness World Records could not confirm that it was an official record for the fastest goal scored from kick-off.

In a statement Guinness World Records said ‘The quality of the goal makes it all the more unfortunate to confirm that sadly we don’t monitor records outside of professional football’. The goal was not unplanned, as Hall said he had achieved the same thing in Sunday league and had decided to try his luck during his home debut at Croydon.
