By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City housewife is out on bail after being charged with grievous harm in connection with an alleged attack that left another woman injured.

Michelle Eulah Gabb, 55, of Albert Street, appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2 on Tuesday, where she was read a single charge of grievous harm. She is accused of striking 55-year-old woman in the head with a piece of wood during an altercation on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Gabb was granted bail of $2,000 plus one surety of the same amount. As part of her bail conditions, she must not interfere with the complainant, her family, or any prosecution witnesses, and she must remain at least 25 feet away from her. Gabb is scheduled to return to court on May 6, 2025.

According to police reports, the complainant, a newspaper vendor, was sitting on Albert Street West around 11:30 a.m. when Gabb allegedly approached her with a large wooden stick, approximately seven feet long and two inches wide. Witnesses say Gabb repeatedly struck the woman on the head while shouting threats.

The woman managed to escape after Gabb’s daughter intervened, urging her mother to stop. Bleeding and in pain, the complainant rode her bicycle to Precinct 1 Police Station to report the attack. She was later taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment.

Later that evening, police detained and charged Gabb with grievous harm. The case is set for further proceedings in May.
