Hours to Election Day: Thea vs. Elvia in Corozal Bay

By Zoila Palma: As Election Day draws near, one of the most closely watched races is the Corozal Bay constituency, where former PUP Area Representative Elvia Vega Samos is running as an independent candidate against the PUP’s Thea Garcia Ramirez.

In a heartfelt appeal to the people of Corozal Bay, Vega Samos emphasized her commitment to the community:
“My beloved people of Corozal Bay, I am standing up for you, standing by you, and will not turn my back on you for no number of silver pieces. They can offer the world, but nothing is greater than my love for my Corozal Bay! Today, hours before you go to the polls, I ask that you too stand by me and give me your vote of confidence,” Vega Samos said.

Meanwhile, Garcia Ramirez highlights her tangible accomplishments, asserting that she has already hit the ground running with projects that are making a difference in the community:
“From roadworks, community initiatives, trainings, mobile clinics, youth programs, and more! But beyond these pictures, the work continues. Helping families with land issues, providing educational grants, medical and funeral assistance, and always showing up for our people with love. This is the clear difference between promises and action. This is leadership that delivers,” Garcia Ramirez stated.

As the clock ticks down to Election Day, the residents of Corozal Bay are preparing to cast their ballots and choose their next Area Representative. The race is on, and both candidates have made strong cases for their leadership and commitment to the community.
