By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize is starting October with hot weather and the possibility of a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
The National Meteorological Service says warm, somewhat moist and unstable airflow continues over the country today.
Skies will be mostly sunny with a few cloudy intervals before becoming partly cloudy tonight.
Showers and thunderstorms will generally be isolated, but a few more could develop over northern and inland areas this afternoon.
Some coastal areas could see additional showers or thunderstorms late tonight.
Temperatures will reach 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast and a hot 94 degrees inland. The hills will see highs near 81 degrees.
Marine conditions will be choppy, with east to southeast winds of 10 to 15 knots and waves between three and five feet.
Similar weather is forecast for Friday and Friday night.
Meanwhile, there are no immediate tropical threats to Belize.
Forecasters say tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the region during the next 48 hours.
