By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belizeans can expect mostly sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today, according to the latest forecast from the National Meteorological Service. A moderate east to southeasterly airflow continues to influence weather conditions across the country.
While most areas will experience dry weather, showers will be isolated. However, late tonight, southern regions may see an uptick in activity with a few more showers and isolated thunderstorms expected.
At sea, winds are blowing from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots. The sea state remains choppy with wave heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet.
Temperatures remain high across the country. Inland areas are expected to reach highs of 96°F (36°C), with lows dropping to 74°F (23°C). Coastal communities will see highs of 89°F (32°C) and lows of 83°F (28°C). In hilly terrain, temperatures will top out around 83°F (28°C) and dip to a cool 66°F (19°C) overnight.
No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the next 48 hours in the North Atlantic Basin.
Looking ahead to Thursday, cloudy spells with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected over the north and central areas during the day, spreading to the south Thursday night.
