By Zoila Palma: The highly anticipated Hopkins Mango Fest kicks off today.
The Mango fest is being held today, June 13 and tomorrow Sunday, June 14 in Hopkins Village, Stann Creek, bringing together mango lovers, families, artisans and entertainers for two days of community celebration.
Festival activities begin at 10:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with an official welcoming message scheduled for 1:00 p.m. each day.
Families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the “sweetest weekend of the year,” featuring an array of mango-inspired foods and drinks, live music and entertainment, and cultural showcases.
The event will also feature children’s activities and games, along with displays and products from local artisans and vendors. The festival aims to highlight the rich culture of Hopkins while providing a family-friendly atmosphere for residents and tourists alike.
Businesses such as Sip&Go Cocktails will have their Mango coconut slush and mango daquiri for sale and J&L’s Tropical treats will be selling their famous mangoyadas.
Admission to the festival is $3 for adults and $1 for children.
